Laying

Four to five of the chickens are finally laying eggs!  They're small to large brown eggs and they're mighty tasty!

First eggs:  June 2, 2011

June 24th One hen has layed twins twice.  On the right is a normal (large) egg and the one on the left has two yokes.

Sometimes it's like an Easter egg hunt to find the eggs.  They've gotten better about laying them in the nests in their coup though.

 We've had a couple of very small, different colored eggs.  We think they're from Taz (the only black and white striped hen).  She doesn't quite understand the concept of a nest and layed it on cement, so this one broke as it exited.  I'm sure you can image what happened with it after seeing this pic of Keira holding it, on the carpet.
