More Presents and a Friend's Party

Sierra was excited to receive another set of presents from grandparents!

We celebrated Sierra's good friend Landon's (Jessica and Andrew's third child) first birthday a week after  hers.

1 Year!!!

Sierra weighs 19 pounds, 9.6 ounces (45%), (I know, I was shocked too, thinking it should be well above the 50%).  She is 28.5 inches tall (20%) (I think she was a little squished when she got measured.).  Her head circumference is in the 55%.  

At Keira's one year check up she weighed 18 pounds, 13 ounces (14%) and was 30 inches tall (77%) and her head circumference was in the 50%.  Definitely a difference there.  ;-)  

Sierra is such a delight!  The one word I would use to describe her is "sweet!"  She is such a sweet girl!  I can't believe she's technically a toddler and no longer a baby.  Times goes too fast!  Maybe we could wait until she's actually walking to start calling her a toddler?  We thought she would start walking sooner than Keira, but she's definitely not even that close.  She doesn't even stand unsupported yet.

She's a great eater and likes most things and eats most things we eat.  She has not taken a bottle (even of breast milk) since she was six months.  But she's using the sippy cup well.  She's still nursing and we just started giving her a little milk sometimes with meals.  She does fine with it.

She's also a good napper.  She usually takes two pretty good naps per day.  But she's not sleeping through the night.  She usually wakes up once sometime between 3am-6am for a little power feed.  Ya know, with Keira sleeping through the night at three months, I couldn't believe how moms could still be waking up in the middle of the night to feed their baby.  But really, it's not that bad.  It's actually kind of nice to get to cuddle with my little sweetie and spend some uninterrupted, quiet time in the middle of the night with her.  I know one day I'll miss these specials times I have with her, so I'm just savoring and enjoying them.  Plus, I never have any problems going back to sleep.

In the beginning of May Sierra got her 4th tooth, her upper left first (middle) tooth.  She also learned how to wave bye bye and hi by opening and closing her hand.  It's the cutest thing I've ever seen!  She also does it for night night sometimes.  And occasionally she tries to say night night with a ni nigh.

A couple of days before her birthday she got her 5th tooth, her upper right second tooth.

On her Birthday Sierra started saying "Oh oh".  It is soooo cute!  Her favorite thing to do is throw everything out of her crib and say "oh oh."  She says it whether we're in there or not.  But when we do go on then she looks down and points at everything and says "oh oh".  It is soooo funny and cute!!

We had a low-key little birthday party for Sierra's first birthday with Aunt Laurie, Uncle John, and Alli.

Whew!  That's a lot of gifts for such a tiny girl!

Nine Months

Wow, totally forgot to publish this one.  Here are some pics from when this sweet girl was nine months.

February 26th ish, 2013

She weighs 18 pounds, 3.2 ounces (50%) and is 27 1/2 inches tall (40%).  And extremely unfortunately I can't remember much else.  And didn't write anything, just added the pictures.

Swing Set

June 2013

My mom asked me what Sierra wanted for her first birthday.  I thought and thought, and really couldn't think of anything.  Sierra's not really into anything at this point and already has all of Keira's old toys.  I told her that we would love to get the girls a swing set and a sandbox and some more fun things to do outside.  We we found this beauty on Craig's List for $200 and it was Sierra and Keira's birthday presents.  I must say- it's the best gift ever!

We rented a moving truck, disassembled it, Chris set it back up in our yard, and the girls have been in love ever since!  It even has an area for a sandbox, which will become utilized in the spring.  It's just perfect!

It ended up costing us a little more than the $200 after the moving truck, pressure washer rental, and paint.  But worth every penny!  We LOVE it!!!  And our backyard is soooo much more fun now!  Thank you Grandma for the greatest present!!!!  Unfortunately I don't have any pictures right now of it painted.  It looks even better!  The last two are after it was pressure washed.

Jeeping in Canyonlands

Warning!  There are waaaayyyy tooooo many photos on here!  But it was just so much fun!!!

Chris has had super heavy duty, lifted jeeping Jeeps ever since I've known him.  That's more than ten years.  And we've only been jeeping once, down in Las Cruces, New Mexico, several years ago.  So a little more kid-friendly than our previous mountain biking trips to Moab, we decided to do some jeeping and exploring there.  I was a little worried, but I have to say.. it was sooo much fun!

We got in a bit late and spent the first night at Sand Flats.  The following day we drove down to Canyonlands.  Neither of us had been down there.  We kind of followed a jeeping trip my good friends did with their family and we thought it was awesome!!!  It started with a fairly tough but fun climb up Elephant Hill.  I was quite impressed with what Chris' jeep could do.  And even more impressed that my friends did it in just a stock (non-lifted, not suped up) Jeep.  We arrived and camped at Devil's kitchen which was just amazing!  There were all kinds of tunnels and caves and places to hike and explore.  We also went on a couple of miles hike.  We thought we had the best campsite in the area with an awesome view of the pinnacle rocks (I think they're called)... until we went exploring the next morning in other campsites.  There were several that were just amazing.  We did have the best view, but it wasn't as secluded as some.  We left the following morning and did some more jeeping and went on a nice hike.  I can't remember what it was called.  But we got to go through some awesome cracks and had some great views.  We were supposed to go home that night but had so much fun exploring we decided to stay another night so we wouldn't get home so late.  We camped again in the Sand Flats area.  The girls did wonderful and we all just had soooo much fun!  Here are the gazillions of pictures.  For some reason they're not in the order I put them in.

We had so much fun!  This trip almost makes me only want to have three kids, for the first time.  With four kids, you can't really go jeeping.  You have to use some fancy big Jeep.  You can't just rent a normal car if you're on a trip, you either need an expensive van or SUV... ya know?  ALMOST.  Only time will tell.
