Back to Work :-(

September 7th was my first day back to work.  :-(  It was a day I was dreading for over three months.  Time goes amazingly fast when you're having fun, too fast.  I am just so thankful that we decided I'd take three months off instead of one.  I can't imagine if it was only one.
A picture of my beautiful baby girl before leaving for work early in the morning.  She just recently realized how much she loves holding her hands.
Sierra's second bottle.  Good thing my girls do good with bottles.
It looks like they're in good hands.  (Laurie was home for a little while in the afternoon and helped get do Keira's hair.)
My big sweetie was sleeping by the time I got home.  12.5 hour shifts turn into me being gone for at least 14.5 hours with the drive and sometimes getting off late.
Don't get my wrong, I love my job.  It's the most I've enjoyed my job since I became a nurse.  And I really shouldn't complain about only working one day a week.  But if I had my choice, I would MUCH rather stay home with my little sweethearts.  Unfortunately during my maternity leave some changes took place and I don't have many night shifts.  Nights work much better because I'm not gone ALL day long, Chris doesn't have to watch the girls ALL day long, and I don't have to try to find the time to pump every three hours.  It turned out to be as good as it could be though.  It wasn't super busy, everyone wanted to see pictures of my girls, and I was only two hours late for pumping the last time. The very first IV start I had done in over three months turned out to be a 15 year old girl who weighed 250 pounds and "they can never get an IV."  And guess what!  I got it on my first try!  Even with an audience of another nurse, the doctor, the hovering pt's mom who used to be a phlebotomist, and the patient's grandpa.  Yup!  I'm amazing! ;-)

Chris' California Motorcycle Trip

September 25th-31st
To celebrate trading in his motorcycle, for a Honda 1300st, Chris took a trip to California.  He left early in the morning and stayed the first night just past the Nevada border where he met up with two other guys that just happened to be traveling to California via motorcycle as well.

They camped and rode the following day where they split off in Reno, NV so Chris could see his brother Jeremy and Grandma who was there visiting, and they went to Lake Tahoe.

The next morning he left and rode around Lake Tahoe on the way to his Dad's house near Santa Cruz.

He spent a couple of days in Santa Cruz and then headed south along the Pacific Coast Highway to visit with his Aunt Sherri.  The next morning he saw a good friend from high school and then started the trek back.  He spent the night in a hotel in Utah and made it home safe and sound the next day.  He had a great trip!

Bye Bye Paci

September 8th
I had heard several suggestions on how to go about getting rid of the paci.  But the one that sounded best to us was this one.  To be honest, I felt a little guilty because she was so excited to watch it fly away with a balloon, not quite comprehending that when she got rid of it she wouldn't have it anymore.
We bought a special (much too expensive balloon) and had one last parting suck.

She opened her mouth
and let it fly away with Dora.  We watched it until we could no longer see Dora.
The first five nights and nap times were rough, but after that she forgot allllll about it.  I think she's only mentioned it once since then!  Success!

Summer Farewell

Well being caught up didn't last for long did it!  I once again find myself 1.5 months behind!  Where does the time go?!

August 31st
We sure will miss summer... the heat, the long days, you name it!
Cute sideways pony.  I am so unoriginal when it comes to hair.  Aunt Laurie showed me this cute do.
Look at those rolls!  ;-)

August 29th
Yup, she's three and still has the paci.  It will happen soon.... Stay tuned...
August 30th
It's rare that I eat a meal without feeding Sierra or at least holding her.  But I would't change it!
Keira was in heaven dressing up like a princess at our friends' house.
September 4th
Our annual trip to Miller Farms where we pick our own veggies.  This year we got lots of corn, carrots, onions, tomatoes, green beans, and a couple of pumpkins.  It's so much fun!

She's getting so big!!!  :-(
