September 24th At Chris' friend's wedding. Doesn't he look handsome all dressed up!
What a cutie!
Not sure what's happened with her smile. If I ask her to smile she gives a weird smile, does some silly crunching up her nose and eyes, and turns her head. Maybe we need to look in the mirror and practice smiles. ;-)
September 28th Most excitingly!!! I'M PREGNANT! I know, no longer a surprise four and a half months later, but exciting never-the-less!
Our lucky day!
This is just to make me feel better about myself since I'm showing so much earlier. This was at 5 weeks. My abs are definitely stretchier this time around.
October 14th We have a nephew! Chris' brother Jeremy, and Wendy had the cutest little boy! He really is adorable. I can't wait to meet him! And Wendy! She sounds super sweet! And we look forward to more cousins in the family. Too bad David is so far away. :-(
Aunt Laurie is the best babysitter in the world! I'm so thankful to have her a few times a month. Here are a few pics she texts me at work to show how much fun they're having. I'm always jealous, but there's nobody I'd rather watch her more than her Aunt Laurie. They adore each other!
October 21-25th Keira and I took a trip to visit my mom in Ouray. It was a nice visit although Keira was not on her best behavior (which is a must when visiting my mom). Actually Keira had a couple of months of just whineyness and neediness. And then it got better, but I think it's returned. I'm hoping it's all of these molars that are finally cutting through. This was at the park we used to play at almost everyday for years, and the pool I started lifeguarding at.
Keira loved the fish pond. We especially loved the turtles.
My mom and my cutie!
October 25th 8 Weeks! He or she sure has lots of room in there!
Here's a view of how we'd like our house to look eventually, with an extra garage. And then Chris will let me store some of my things in the garage besides my car, like our freezer, my tires, or my bike rack. This will be waaaay down the road though.
However, this wont! I'm very excited for next spring or summer! I'll be honest (and not to gross you out or anything), but I've been pretty disgusted by the chickens. They go to the bathroom all of the time, and everywhere. The most repulsive is when it's on the patio and our stairs. Ewwwww! I had to sweep pretty much everyday and it was just so gross. Since we have a large side yard that's kind of wasted space, we're going to extend the fence out and make the side yard for the chickens and dog. And we'll have a beautiful backyard, well I probably shouldn't go that far. I can't wait!
And hopefully and ideally we're going to build a deck back there to replace the little yucky patio.
October 26th The first big snow. Keira and I had fun playing in the snow!
October 27th My poor little girl got an eight hour flu virus or something and was vomiting. It was so heartbreaking. She woke us up around 5am somewhat crying. When I went in her room she was standing and said, "I just coughed a little bit and I made a mess all over the place." At that point I saw vomit all over her and her crib. The poor little darling. We let her spend the rest of the morning in our bed so we could help every time she vomited. Of course she snuggled right up with her daddy. He is so lucky! (Although he's known to disagree.) Keira just adores him! You can also see his mustache in this pic. He didn't shave during the month of October for Stachetober at the Arvada Fire Department. It grew better than we thought, but we weren't huge fans.
October 31, 2011 Happy Halloween! Ironically, Keira was grumpy bear, and was a bit grumpy. She still wasn't feeling very well. And Chris and myself had both caught the thankfully very short-lived virus. I felt kind of bad for Keira. Last year I bought this Care Bear costume because it was super cheap and I loved Care Bears when I was young. But I wish I wouldn't found one besides grumpy bear. People would say "Are you Grumpy" and she didn't understand or really like it. Besides that she loved bearing a bear! She's quite the roaring expert (not that CARE Bears roar)!
She would've loved to take the humongous Minnie home from Costco... but it sure was a nice distraction in the store.
November 12th & 13th Arvada Fire Spouse's Academy. Chris wanted me to go and it sounded like fun since I used to consider going that route. It was quite fun, and I learned a lot. It also made me more confident in fire fighting and their safety. The firefighters were especially careful and sweet with us. This picture was taken right before I caught on fire. Yup, despite being about 10 feet from the fire, my jacket started smoldering. I had no idea!
November 18th 12 Weeks- Luckily at 17 weeks I don't look too much bigger than this. I'm pretty sure I started to look like this around 20 weeks with Keira.
Keira was so sweet and cute, and a little helpful, while I spent hours raking leaves this fall.
November 5th I LOVE my family! I just have to post lots of pictures because I love them so much! My brother and sister are the BEST! Keira loves them too! She knew they'd be coming for Christmas and on Christmas morning the very first thing she said wasn't about Santa, it was are Uncle John and Aunt Laurie here??? Awww!
We also had a wonderful Thanksgiving together!
November 27th My birthday was so special this year! Although I was hoping Chris would come to church with me, (my sister did!) he made up for it by decorating the house with beautiful Hawaiian decorations while we were gone. He also didn't let me do any work, he gave Keira a bath before church and got her all ready, changed all of her diapers (even a dirty one), had a surprise lunch, and my favorite dinner, took my dishes to the sink, and washed dishes. And to top it all off and make it even better, my sister was there too!!! It was just so wonderful!
Nope, not struggling at all. Haha!
Too bad you can't really see the decorations.
"I did it!!!" She enjoys little puzzles and gets pretty proud of herself.
December 12th Chris finished his math class this semester and received an associates degree with a 4.0 GPA. We went out to eat at Chris' favorite restaurant, Jose O'Shea's to celebrate. Look how lucky he is! Keira was all cuddled up to him. I have to admit, I felt a little guilty. I'm kind of cheap, and Keira doesn't eat much so I've never ordered her own meal. Well he got there before I did, (I took a couple of hours to finish Christmas shopping) and he ordered for all three of us and got her something. She was pretty excited about it. He even ordered me something I've never tried before (I'm boring and always get the same things, a chimichanga or side order of an enchilada) and loved it!
December 20th We just don't get outside as much in the winter, so Chris realized we can bring the fun inside. In November a friend gave us this big bouncy castle thing and although it barely fits in our living room, it's pretty darn fun! However, the little stinker has the most fun when we're in there with her holding her hands while she jumps. We're trying to break Daddy down for Aunt Laurie's trampoline she's been trying to give us. (On that note, we're also trying to break him down for part time care of a Siberian Husky puppy for my sister, while she's at work.) Wish us luck with that one! It would be so wonderful for Jason, he wouldn't be nearly as lonely, and for Keira, and for me!!! PLEEEAAASE Chris! Not to mention it would make Laurie ecstatic!!!
