January Review

This will be short and sweet seeing it's the end of March.  But I threw these pics in here a couple of months ago and can't not post them.  :o)
Keira loves playing in the snow and discovered she also loves eating the snow!
Braids for the first time!  Hurray!!!  This of course was done by Aunt Laurie.
2nd Haircut.  She does wonderful watching whatever movie they have on for kids.
The haircut lady showed me another cute way to style her hair.  Of course it doesn't look nearly as good when I try to do it.
While I was at work (why does everything happen when I'm at work- this, braids...?) Chris took down the front railing of her crib to make it like a toddler bed.  I can't believe I missed it, couldn't he have at least mentioned it to me first?  My baby girl is no baby anymore  :-( (however you wouldn't know by seeing the paci and diapers she still wears).
Keira loves to "workout" with Daddy.  It's so cute.  Here she's trying to do situps.

My friend Jessica isn't going to be needing her toddler bed for a couple of years so let us borrow it.  Keira loves her "big girl bed."  It's so cute seeing her in there!  She hasn't been napping quite as well, but she's been really good about staying in there and not getting out.
Keira stopped going to daycare this month and it has been wonderful!  She hasn't been sick once!  It seems like she had some kind of little cold almost all fall for the four months she was going to the in-home daycare lady.  My wonderful friend Jessica has been watching Keira from 7am-1pm one day a week so I can sleep after my night shift.  She LOVES going over there to play with Sydney who's her age and Cameron who is almost five.  I feel so much more comfortable with her over there and know she is so much better taken care of.  Hopefully soon something will change with my work schedule so we don't even need a babysitter, but for now we can't beat this situation!

20.5 Weeks!

January 18, 2012

Once again, a bit late, but here are some shots from January 18th of our BABY GIRL!!!!  I'm sooo excited!  I'm sure she will be the PERFECT addition to our family!  I have to admit, I was a bit surprised, I thought for sure it was a boy since I've felt so much worse with this pregnancy.  But Keira has been right all along and will be getting the baby sister she's been hoping for and talking about!

I am feeling much better!  I had a rough time for the last couple of months.  I realize it more now since I feel so much better!  I had been exhausted and nauseous.  Actually, I think I just needed some warm, sunny weather and the ocean.  It was all cured in California and hasn't returned!

Run for Ruby California Trip

In early January Keira and I were able to take a trip out to California to help celebrate the one year birthday of Chris' cousins' baby, Ruby.  It was wonderful to be with family and I am so thankful we were able to be there for the special event.

While we were there we went to the Newport Beach Temple.
Chris' super cute Grandma
On Thursday night there was a concert at Chris' aunt and uncle's house in honor of Ruby.  Mindy Gledhill performed with her awesome accompanist.  I knew and loved one of her songs, "All About Your Heart."  But hearing her in person made me just love all of her songs.  I was lucky enough to sit at her table and she was such a sweet girl.  She was so down to earth and talked like she wasn't a famous singer.  It was really cool.  Her songs are so heart-felt and really display her love for her family.
The weather was wonderful for January and it was so great being in the warm sunshine!
The Run for Ruby.  Ani and Matt (Ruby's parents) are not avid runners; they may have done a couple of runs for fun in the past.  But they did an absolutely AMAZING job organizing this run, and had only been planning it since August or so. They had thought about 250 people would be doing it, and over 420 did!  It was such a great turn out!  And such a fun run!  It was just as good or better than any professional race I've ever done.  There were decorations, giveaways, booths, music, metals, shirts, everything you could imagine.
It was a bit chilly, but so much fun!  My little cutie was such good company.  I hadn't ran six miles in a looong time,  but it as great!
You can't go to California without heading to In-N-Out!
...or Trader Joe's!
...or most importantly to the ocean!  You would never know it's January in San Clemente.  What a perfect day it was!
Keira loved playing in the sand!

And with her cousin Kate in the "house" they made.

If you're familiar with pictures I take, you'd know I didn't take this one.  Ani got a great shot of us!
