Just in time for her 20 month update (don't worry, I think I'll stop the monthly updates at 2 years!) here's her 19 month. :o) This has been a bit of a hard month. Keira has pretty much been sick since her 18 month well visit and immunizations. So it's been about six weeks. She gets better for a few days, but then gets another cold or something. It is just heartbreaking when your children are sick. You feel so helpless and just feel so bad for them. On the other hand, I do LOVE all of the cuddling and love!
This was March 3rd, she had explosive diarrhea . I sat her on the counter to make lunch because she wouldn't let me put her down, and she laid down on the stove. :-(
The next day, vomiting. I think it was the first time Keira ever vomited. :-( She wanted to be held all day and didn't want to play at all. We watched Dora, and she wouldn't even watch her favorite show by herself.
March 10th- Kids are actually pretty good at being sick, still smiling and playing. From most of my experience in the ER, some adults are slightly pathetic when they're sick. ;-) She was better for a few days, before getting a cold.

Naps. She loves being in her crib with her paci and blanket. Often she'll just quietly and happily play in there and I won't even know she's awake.
Cheerios. She used to love grapes, but not as much now. She's become quite picky!
Accessories- shoes, socks on her hands, bracelets, bows, stickers on her shirt, necklaces, carrying around something like a purse.
Hugging and kissing her babies and animals and loves carrying them around.
This picture was a first for her. She likes to put her toys down for night night and used this container for a bed and put her bear down and even covered her up with the blanket, and didn't suffocate it. :o)
First time on a big girl swing. :o)
Nursery is going really well. I don't really know how to leave her. I try to get her interested in something and play, but the whole time she is clinging to me and every time I say I love you or give her a kiss she clings on to me and says "no, no" knowing that I'm about to leave. Once I leave, she's done crying in about 30 seconds to a minute. Last Sunday they told me she did really well. :o) It's super nice being able to pay attention in church!
March 28th Keira had had a cold, but then started to get high fevers, 103.2 during this picture and that night it got up to 104.1. I have to admit, even I was a little uncomfortable with that.
Making sure she didn't have pneumonia.
The next day I e-mailed the doctor and took her in. She had an ear infection and started a 10 day course of antibiotics. Since her last visit exactly a month before for her 18 month checkup, she had lost a pound. She weighed 23lbs 3.4 oz, going from 50th to 27th percentile. :-( Her heart rate was also 30 beats a minute faster than last month. It sure is heartbreaking when your kids are sick. :-(
General Conference weekend was just fabulous!!! I LOVED all of the talks and learned something new from every one! I also thought soooo many of them applied perfectly to my life or to my friends and family. We are so blessed to have a prophet and apostles who receive revelation and know everyone's personal needs and address so many important topics today.
Keira enjoyed Dora and part of Finding Demo while I got to enjoy conference! I so can't wait for us to watch and love it together!
Saturday was a GLORIOUS spring day!!! So in between sessions we joined Aunt Laurie at her pool. The water was way too cold to swim, but it sure was lovely being out in the sun's warmth! :o)
Earlier this week Keira had fevers for about 24 hours again, we were going to take her to the doctor the next day, but she got better. And being a nurse, I need a good reason to take someone to the doctor. So hopefully this will be over once and for all!
Keira's strength remains talking. She is saying two to four word sentences. She's also starting to use words to describe things. I've heard that Spanish is easier to learn than English, and I'm starting to get it, at least for this little reason. Keira says the adjective after the noun, "baby pretty, shoe princess." Here are some other things she says.

My mom made a good point last month, Keira's not really counting, just saying numbers. But now she's trying to count. I think she knows one and two and that's about it. When she tries to say the numbers, she still counts something like 2,3,6,8 and isn't all that interested in learning the right way. She also tries to say the alphabet sometimes.
She's also trying to talk in sentences, with a mixture of one or two words intelligible words and the rest unintelligible.
As was said in General Conference, I think I've enrolled in Parenting 505, instead of 101. Keira is quite a handful. She is very strong willed and definitely tests me. She is a tremendous blessing to me and is going to help me become much more Christ-like, less selfish, and she'll just make me a much better person in so many ways. I think we need each other. I am so thankful for her and love her more than words can describe!
