Good Advise

As you may have noticed, I'm not one to send forwards.  So I thought I'd copy and paste since it does have some good advice.

ONE. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

TWO. Marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversational skills will be as important as any other. 

THREE.  Don't believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want. 

FOUR.  When you say, 'I love you,' mean it. 

FIVE.  When you say, 'I'm sorry,' look the person in the eye. 

SIX. Be engaged at least six months before you get married. 

SEVEN.  Believe in love at first sight. 

EIGHT.  Never laugh at anyone's dreams. People who don't have dreams don't have much. 

NINE.  Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but it's the only way to live life completely. 

TEN..  In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling. 

ELEVEN.  Don't judge people by their relatives. 

TWELVE.  Talk slowly but think quickly. 

THIRTEEN! .. When someone asks you a question you don't want to answer, smile and ask, 'Why do you want to know?' 

FOURTEEN.  Remember that great love and great achievements involve great risk. 

FIFTEEN.  Say 'bless you' when you hear someone sneeze. 

SIXTEEN.  When you lose, don't lose the lesson. 

SEVENTEEN.  Remember the three R's: Respect for self; Respect for others; and Responsibility for all your actions. 

EIGHTEEN. Don't let a little dispute injure a great friendship. 

NINETEEN.  When you realize you've made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it. 

TWENTY. Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice 

TWENTY- ONE.  Spend some time alone. 

Credit Card Debt Free

Since we bought our house over two years ago we have been struggling with credit card debt.  We've paid it off three times in that amount of time, but usually by the next week we'd be in debt again.  Terrible thing!  Back in November we got serious about getting out and STAYING OUT FOREVER!  And last week we did it!  Never again will we have credit card debt!  Now we're working on our student loans and the airplane loan, and then the house.  It seems like a never ending thing, but at least we will never have credit card debt again!  :o)

Humiliated

Last week the most embarrassing thing ever happened at work.  My patient said, "You have quite a mustache going on."  I immediately turned bright red and answered in a mortified and shocked "Oh."  He proceeded to say, "It's okay, some women look good with mustaches."

Minutes later after examining it in the bathroom, I realized that I do have a bit of a mustache going on.  The bright lights of the emergency room and being about a foot above my patient's face listening to his lungs provided for the best lighting possible to see the disgraceful thing.  I'm a fairly hairy person but luckily my hair is super blond so you can't really tell.

So now I don't know what to do.  I'm sharing this mortifying experience in hope of some words of advice.  A friend at work said to wax it.  My sister said I should go somewhere to have it waxed.  Chris said "Your mustache is cute."  I was ready to borrow a disposable chest hair removal razor from work and shave it off right then.  It seems like when I start removing hair (like plucking my eyebrows) my hair grows back coarser and darker and I certainly don't want that!  Any advice ladies?

Our Baby at Six Weeks

Well we're not as far along as we thought, due to my 36-42 day cycles. We're back to six weeks and one day. I have to admit, I was quite excited about the little raspberry growing in me. But soon enough... and I should treasure this time of being pregnant and not showing. :o)

The Wrong Due Date

We had our first prenatal visit today and the U/S showed that I'm about six weeks and one day. The baby is only about 1/2 cm but has a strong heartbeat and everything looks good! :o)

Happy New Year!

Although it wasn't the most exciting New Year's celebration ever, it was the most wonderful and memorable one because I got to spend it just with my absolutely wonderful husband and he made it super special!

Besides the year we got married, in 2005, this will probably be the most exciting and happiest year of our lives!  There will be many changes to look forward to (I LOVE change!) and I can't wait!!!

Hope 2009 is your happiest and best year also!

Exciting News!

Right before leaving for work, we decided to take a pregnancy test...

Just to make sure, we tried again the next day!

Yup, we're (I mean I'M pregnant!)  Obviously not far along, and this isn't super accurate since I had longer cycles, but probably sometime between August 21st and August 29th we'll hopefully have a healthy, beautiful baby!  This is from December 30th.

I think Heavenly Father was trying to show me something, that I'm NOT in control.  I had hoped to get pregnant this summer so I could have the baby in the spring and then be able to walk and jog with him or her outside and get back into shape over the summer.  I had always thought it would just happen as soon as I came off birth control.  Not so much for us.  We "tried" in September and October, and got pregnant in December.  God is reminding me that I have to be selfless to be a mother!  :o)

We're super duper excited!!!!  And I know, I know... most people wait until they're further along, but we're just so excited!  Not to mention most of the five people who look at this (in a good month) already know!

Christmas 2008

I have to admit, Christmas had the worst beginning ever!  I was working in the CCU and had the busiest patients ever!  I had a very sick new admit, and didn't have any help from my pod mates because they were busy also.  I did eventually get some help from a couple of girls from other pods.  I was supposed to get off at about 3:30 am and ended up staying until 6:00 am to finish everything up.

Luckily after a cry, cuddling with Chris, and three hours of sleep, Christmas became its usual wonderful day!

Jason was very excited about his gifts!

Christmas just isn't the same without your family.  We made the most of it though and were lucky enough to have my brother join us for an early Christmas dinner.

We then headed over to our friend's house about 35 minutes away from a week of house/dog sitting for their three dogs and Jason.  It made me so thankful how WONDERFUL Jason is!!!
