More from Chris' Epic Journey

One of the drawbacks to not blogging yourself is that your wife gets to pick which pictures to post!  So here are a few more of my favorites from his epic journey halfway across the U.S.

Chris still sleepy starting the first ride day of his trip.
It worked out perfect, a friend of over ten years I knew from way back in the day of life guarding at the Golden Rec Center happens to live about an hour from where Chris picked up the bike.  So he stayed the night with her and she was a wonderful hostess!  She even got up super early the day he left to make him a breakfast burrito.  If only his wife was that nice!  ;-)
Mom (like me) not so sure about the whole motorcycle thing.
Dad, a natural!  He used to do some racing back in the day.  Now he enjoys quads, which would also be more my style!  If only they lived closer!!!!  (Hint, hint!)  ;-)

Chris' Journey Part III

Day three was the worst of his traveling days.  He ended up leaving Wichita, KS a bit later than he had planned due to the freezing weather.  He was a little on the cool side most of the eight hours home as well as it being a bit windy.  If he lifted his head up, he sometimes felt like his helmet was going to fly off.  He finally made it home around 5:30pm after I had gone to work.  That night he was too sore to sit and spent the evening on the couch and in bed.  I was so glad he made it home safe and sound and didn't have any close calls!

Chris' Journey Part II

Chris ended up getting sick at his parents' house in Mississippi.  Really it couldn't have been better timing, if he had to get sick.  So he ended up being there two days and three nights.  I'm sure he and his family enjoyed their extra time together.  This morning Chris set out again for his big journey home, riding 11-12 hours today.  I just talked to him and he was already in bed and said he's a little sore but not as bad as he was a few days ago.

Just North of Tulsa, Oklahoma

He's staying the night in Wichita, Kansas at a Motel 6.  He didn't want to stay with a random person like he had planned and risk getting them sick.  I can't wait to see him!  Although he'll be back tomorrow night and I'll be working.  :-(  So depending on when he works on Friday (he doesn't even know yet) I'll hopefully be able to see him a little Friday.

I Feel G-R-R-E-A-T!!!

This morning I woke up frantic thinking I had set my alarm for pm instead of am and slept in and missed church (I start teaching the primary kids at 10:20am and didn't even have a good excuse by working the night before).  I looked at my clock and it was only 8:15, my alarm hadn't even gone off yet!  I didn't even feel like I could sleep another five hours, I felt great!  I got up thinking I would come home and take a nice long nap after church.  But nope, I wasn't even tired, I felt great and had so much energy!  I didn't really realize I haven't been feeling well, but I have had no energy and have been exhausted.  And now I feel G-R-R-E-A-T!!!  I've been thinking it's because of working nights and this little cold I've had for about a week, and hopefully not that I'm getting old or lazy.  But hopefully I can blame pregnancy, and hopefully I'll feel like my own normal self again!  Hopefully!  ;-)  This is just wonderful!

Today was such an awesome day and this evening I had so much fun with the Averetts!  I'm so blessed to have such wonderful friends, and so many live close by!  Now I just need to work on family....

Other news working back:  Since my hubby ditched me for Valentine's Day ;-), I got to hang out with another one of my favorite men in the whole world, my little brother!  We had lunch at the most delicious Mexican restaurant I've ever been to in Greeley and then went to one of both of our favorite places, Home Depot.  He's remodeling his downstairs bathroom and it looks amazing!

And lastly, the second prenatal visit was a complete waste until we heard the heartbeat at about 164!!  Now it seems even more real!  :o)

Chris' Epic Adventure from Thomasville, NC to Tupelo, MS

When Chris wants something, he's going to get it.  He worked his tail off working 21 out of 22 days.  Luckily he was able to work five five hour shifts a week and two twelves.  Still, much more than I could ever do!  The reason for this craziness you wonder.... a Kawasaki KLR650 dual sport bike.  Last week he found a good deal on a used 2008 KLR from Ebay.  The only problem: the bike was in North Carolina and would cost $500 to have it shipped.  After doing some research and checking the weather, he decided the cheapest and most fun way to get it would be to fly out and ride it back, 1800 miles!

So he flew out to North Carolina Saturday morning, picked up the bike, and stayed with a friend of mine in Thomasville, NC which is about an hour west of where he picked it up.

And today the ride began!

And home sweet home to his sweet and wonderful parents' home in Tupelo, MS.  He admits that his rear end was a bit sore.  They made him a wonderful dinner (one of my favorites), got all caught up, and watched movies.  He's staying tomorrow too!  How fun!  Tonight he said that he wasn't feeling all that great and my sister has been sick and I've had a bit of a cold for over a week, so I really hope that Chris didn't finally catch it.  I want him home!
Stay tuned for the next days of his epic adventure!

Eight Weeks

Okay, I know not everyone is interested in this, and to most of you, it's been there, done that.  But I'm super excited, and this blog really is for me!  So, I promise to only do this once a month.  But since last week was my eight week (two months) mark, I have to post some pictures of the little person growing inside me!  :o)

These were taken from an awesome website:

Chris thinks I'm starting to show, but I think he's over estimating how flat my stomach used to be.  Sometimes it does look a little bigger, and sometimes it looks normal.  I think it's a little early though.  I had one week where I wasn't feeling very well, but now I feel just fine.  But I think anything I ate or smelled during that week is haunting me and now the smell or thought of my lotion, prenatal vitamins, salad, apples, favorite cereals, or lots of other yummy and healthy things really turns me off.  Now I'm an even pickier eater and most things just don't sound good or I eat something once and never want to see it again.  It also seems like I have been more tired than normal, but it's all good.

Family Night Out

This is the closest I've lived to my brother AND sister in 12 years!  We have to have more outings like this!

We went to Buffalo Wild Wings and got to hear John's hilarious cop stories.  He's still in training, and has some great stories!
I love them so much!
