Colors?
Okay, does anyone know how to change the font colors of titles and everything? I haven't been able to figure it out since they made all of the changes.

Home-grown
I don't have the date, but here's my first meal with the spinach from our garden and my first loaf of homemade bread! I must say, they were delicious!!!
Summer Fun
Colorado really does have a lot to offer. Yes, I would love to live by the beach. BUT we have beaches here! You may not be able to see water for as far as your eyes can see, and the sand may not be as fine and soft and wonderful squishing between your toes, and you'll be lucky to see fish and crawdads swimming, it doesn't have the refreshing aroma of the ocean, and the water may be about the same temp as it is in Alaska, ;-) BUT we have beaches! I'd never been to "the beach" until this summer. It's really fun. Kids build sand castles, families have unbrellas and beach chairs, kids swim in the cold water, people lay out and tan. AND it's only five minutes from my house. And if you ride your bike (20-30 mins or so) it's FREE and I get a great workout!
Keira LOVES to play in the sand! She also enjoyed being in the cold water.
We hit the Farmer's Market and then went to the Kayak park in Golden and had a nice picnic by the river.
Biking again to the beach.
She usually takes a nap on the way there or back. I know, she doesn't look very comfortable.. But she doesn't sem to mind it.
Chris' Fire Stuff
Chris has been a busy man this summer. He was hired on to Arvada's Volunteer Fire Department. The good thing about this is that they always hire from their volunteers. And the city is going to start doing their own ambulance transports rather than just engines, so they'll be hiring at least 10 paramedics in the next year I think. So he's coming in at a great time, especially being a paramedic.
Chris has had to do another two month fire academy. It is Wed and Thurs nights from 6pm-10pm and Saturdays from 7am-7pm. It's pretty intsenvie. But it's been nice because he hasn't had to study nearly as much as he did for the one he took last fall. He's has been very impressed with Arvada Fire Department. Everyone is very nice and they seem to be family oriented. He's hoping he'll get hired on there. One disadvantage is that they only work 24 hour shifts. So they do 24 on, 24 off x4 and then have four days off. It would be hard for me to work except for on his four days off since we would often need a babysitter for just a little while. We'll have to see what happens.
He is also interviewing for West Metro Fire Department. I'm kind of hoping he'll get hired on with them since it's where we live. He has done very well on the written test and physical agility test. His oral interview should be sometime in August. Wish him luck! :o)
The Denver Children's Museum
There are so many fun things to do around that I didn't even know about. Keira and I went with Mariana, Gabriel, and Nicholas to the Denver Children's Museum because I had a Groupon type thing. It was lots of fun! There were so many great activities for kids of all ages.
Keira was not a fan of the fire fighter manikin.
Biel whizzing by. He wouldn't stay still long enough for me to take a picture of him.
Little feet and toes are soooooo cute!!!
Chris 39th Birthday
Chris' birthday falls at such a wonderful time of the year. We usually have a birthday extravaganza for him lasting up to week. This year's wasn't too extravagant since we're busy with work and his fire academy (more to come SOON) but we still had a great time! During the week, we had a babysitter TWICE! Once when we went mountain biking and on his actual Birthday we went to a movie, Thor. It was actually a really good movie.
Keira loved helping her daddy open his gifts!

Veggie Progress
I could be wrong, but I think this is as of mid June. Most things are actually growing pretty well. Here you see carrots, garlic, tomatoes, and basil.
Squash, broccoli, thime, peppers, rosemary
Broccoli and strawberries
Spinich, lettuce, and onions
Not bad for our first time gardening, at least for now. :o)
