More on Keira

Well, I know I just posted about Keira, but there's more!
I have started doing the Insanity workout.  It's been awesome!  It usually forces me to get up early (between 6-6:30 am) to workout.  Which I absolutely LOVE!  (Well kinda, I have a hard time getting up early.)  But it's so nice not being awakened by the girls, starting my day for far behind.  Ideally, I'd shower before they even get up, but that doesn't usually happen, but hopefully soon.  I also like how the Insanity workout is broken into parts, like warm up, stretching (which has been fantastic for me), the main workout, and then the cool down/stretching.  I'm glad my muscles are returning!
I got up early to workout, but Keira somehow heard me and wanted to exercise also.  She was soooo cute!

I finally made it to Chuck E Cheese's for a birthday party.  Not sure what all of the hype is about.  Keira loved riding this horse and a little jungle gym thing they had.
I was really impressed how Keira wrote her name for the first time by herself.  I wrote it on the left side of the heart, and she wrote it on the right.  I did help her hand with the "v" part of the K.  But I was still impressed!
The girls just received this amazing easel from Grampa and Grandma Long.  I thought this was a cute picture Keira drew of eyes, nose, mouth with teeth, and legs.
She also drew the crab on the right side.  She's already a better artist than me!  :o)
This was a picture of Keira, Daddy, Mommy, and Sierra.  It's kind of hard to see Sierra, she's very small in-between two heads.  There's also trees and clouds.  The hair you see in the picture is her "very long" hair.  It's interesting how Keira drew herself as big as us, and Sierra so small....
This is good timing for me to see these cute pictures of Keira.  The last two days she has been a little terror, or "spicy" as a friend nicely calls it.  Chris has been at work and she has been soooo defiant and mean.  Holy frustration.  I just don't know what to do with her sometimes.  This better end tomorrow when Chris gets home.

Aunt Laura's Birthday!

Aunt Laurie came to celebrate her Birthday after she got off work.

Keira was delighted to play with balloons.

Chris is Proud

Chris has been playing the guitar more lately and "Folsom Prison Blues" done by Johnny Cash is one of his top hits.  Even Keira is learning it.  This makes Daddy very proud.  (Not exactly the song Mommy would have chose for her to sing along with, but still cute.)  She was a little camera shy here.

She's Crawling!!!

February 5th, 2013

This video is hilarious!  She was sick again and did not want to be put down, and especially not left alone.  I was going to run downstairs for a quick second to get a stapler, and SHE CRAWLED!  She's certainly not happy about it!  This was actually the re-do of it because the first time I went down there I didn't have my phone/camera so I had to do it again.

That evening.  She's so excited to be able to get the things she wants now!  And follow people!

Happy Until...

January 29th, 2013

Mommy!  Seriously?
... She got a hug from her big sissy!

Sleeping beauty.  She likes to sleep on her side now.
As long as she gets enough sleep, she always wakes up super happy.

Daddy came home from an extra day shift he picked up and the these three were super excited to see each other!
We keep our house a little cool during the night, so we bundle Sierra up in this.  She loves it!
And just a couple more random pics.  Sierra loves picking up food with her hands and making a big mess!
Sierra's first bubble bath.  She didn't quite know what to think of those bubbles.  But she enjoyed them!  It may be one of her last baths for a while though because she got a bad rash from them I think.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!

Chris came home from Jiu Jitsu that afternoon with gorgeous orchids for me, chocolate covered strawberries for Keira, and a Valentine's teddy bear for Sierra.  Super sweet!  That evening we got to go on a date!  One of my friends offered to watch everyone's kids so they could all go out.  I think she and her very kind husband watched 28 kids!  (Some were older and helped out.)  So Chris and I went to this amazingly delicious Hawaiian sushi place (he surprised me) and were going to go shooting (my surprise to him) but it was too close to their closing time and they had classes going on at that time.  It was awesome to go on a date though!

The girls were delighted to get a Valentine from Grammy and Grandpa!  THANK YOU!!!

Eight Months

January 26, 2013

The only word to describe Sierra over the past month is... sick.

But I guess there was a little more to it than that.  Sierra isn't crawling yet, but she sure can pull herself up to a standing position.

January 9, 2013- Her 1st Tooth!  It was her bottom right.  She did well with it, I didn't even realize it was coming.  She was not, however, a fan of me taking a pic of it.
I know you can't see the tooth, but she's just so cute.  I just want to squeeze that tongue!
So back to being sick.  I guess it wasn't the entire month.  It started on the 13th.  I had no idea it was coming.  At church she was slept a lot and was super cuddly.  That evening she had some low grade fevers, 100-101.
She was doing a little better Monday and Tuesday but on the 16th, not only did she get her second tooth, the bottom left, she started to have fairly high fevers.
On the 17th it got up to 104 and I had to alternate Tylenol and Ibuprofen every three hours and her temp still was dipping under 100.  I have to admit, I was a bit nervous when it hit 104 so I disrobed her, took her downstairs where it's cooler and Keira, Sierra, and I watched Cinderella together.  Keira was super happy to have our company.
On Saturday I had to work and Aunt Laurie had said she'd watch the girls.  I asked her if she wanted me to stay home, but she said no.  She had no idea what she was in for.  I think it's the most difficult she's ever watched the girls.  And maybe the first entire day that she'd watched the girls.
Doesn't this sweetheart just look miserable?  :-(
By Sunday she was definitely feeling better, but I still didn't take her to church.  Which was really a bummer because Chris was working so Keira and I had to stay home too.  But I guess not getting her more sick, or getting someone else sick is more important.
The bad thing about me (and Chris) are that we're in the emergency profession.  So one of my loved ones has to be VERY sick for me to do something about it.  So I didn't take her to the doctor.  I'm pretty sure she had influenza, i.e. the flu.  She had cold symptoms, but was mostly just miserable with the high fevers.  And unless you catch it right in the beginning, Tamaflu won't even do anything since it's a virus.  I'd listen to her lungs to make sure it wasn't something like pneumonia, I didn't think it was an ear infection because she wasn't pulling at her ears, and she really didn't have any other symptoms.  If it wasn't better by Monday, I was going to take her in.  BUT she was better!  (But only for about a week.)
Here are just some cute pics of my little darling.  This is at the BBQ restaurant we went to when Keira had her first ice cream.
Love, love, love her!
The funny thing is that none of us got sick.  And none of us had been sick.  I'm not sure if I was a carrier for something that I got at work but my immune system is used to it, or what.  Sierra really was pretty miserable.  She was fussy and she pretty much needed constant attention and holding.  Keira got sick when she was six months, not quite as sick though, but she was more cuddly and lethargic, but not as fussy.  Sierra was not eating solid food while she was sick, and wasn't nursing very much either.  She had been 17 pounds three ounces at her six month check up and I'm pretty sure she's back down to that.  She is obviously not as chubby, good thing she had lots of reserves!  ;-) While she was sick she was waking up several times a night and needed to be held and fed at least twice.  I was having to pump after almost every feeding and sometimes in-between.  And thank goodness I did!  I think when Keira got sick at six months my milk supply really went down.  And now I have thirty plus feedings of frozen milk!

So that pretty much describes the last month.  Sick.
